Gorely volcano

Located 110 kilometers from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Gorely volcano (1829 m) deserves a special attention. More than fifty eruptions in modern history, eight craters with lakes inside of it, the ridge of the volcano which opens on a beautiful view of the surrounded mountains and volcanoes Vilyuchinsky and Mutnovsky… Stunning!

A journey to this magical place and climb to the top is especially interesting in July and early August, when summer surprisingly changes to spring from the foot of the volcano to its peak.
The easiest way to reach this volcano of Kamchatka is by jeep. It takes just 2-3 hours from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Climb to the top takes the same time and is manageable for people of any age and any physical level.

This place is also noteworthy for volcanic caves located seven kilometers from the tourist path. They were formed by lava flows as a result of so-called adverse breakthroughs.
